Hi guys, I'm currently in Tokyo! Loving the museums here.
I visited the Mori Art Museum, which is on the 53th floor of Roppongi Hills. The current exhibition "N. S. Harsha: Charming Journey" wasn't just charming - it was thought provoking and absolutely brilliant.
Harsha's incorporates a lot of cultural, social and economic globalisation issues into his art, especially what he sees in his hometown of Mysuru. There was an exhibit of the workshop he did with students in Japan, where he asked them to draw their dreams for the future on plain white shirts.
"We don't know what the future will be like, so I did something that looks a bit mysterious."
"I want to live with Doraemon."
"I want to actually catch a monster on Pokemon GO."
"I want to be president. I want to return to the country where I was born and make it a better place."
"I like winter, there's my birthday, and Christmas, and my little sister's birthday. I can eat cake four times."
Some made me laugh, some made me a little emotional, but they gave me hope.
I sat at the Tokyo City View on the 52th floor for 2 hours while the sun set, using free wifi, contemplating life choices and directions.
And two days later, I finally decided to set up my website, because this is my dream for the future.
